TAMALE PIE

1 3/4 Cups Onion, chopped
3/4 Cup Green Pepper, chopped
3/4 Pound Ground Round
1/2 Cup Salsa
1 to 2 Tablespoons Hot Sauce
15 Oz Can Pinto Beans, un-drained
14.5 Oz Can Tomatoes, diced

1 Cup Flour
3/4 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
2/3 Cup Low Fat Milk
1 Large Egg, lightly beaten

Preheat Oven to 400°. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add oil, pepper, and beef.Cook until beef is done. Stir in the next 4 ingredients. Cook 5 minutes. Spoon mixtureinto a 3 quart casserole dish. In another bowl mix the remaining ingredients. Stir well.Pour evenly over the meat mixture. Bake for 35 minutes.
